The range hood vents into the laundry room which can direct a stove fire there.  Not exactly safe.  This needs to be routed to the exterior via a metallic duct of prescribed thickness.

The round pipe is the plumbing vent for the kitchen sink.  An air vent is needed for proper drainage but is not allowed to vent or draw air from the interior.  This needs to be routed to the exterior through the roof.
