Excessive pressure, excessive temperature gauge reading

  • Heating Systems

Gauge is faulty – at least in the pressure reading as the safety relief valve was not releasing, or it too was faulty.  The temperature of an operating hot water boiler should be 165 to 185 degrees typically, not over 200 like this one.  It may be set too high or the gauge is misreading.  Obviously service is needed by a qualified technician.
